Day 17 off to Sedona via Flagstaff

It is Saturday night and I am posting tonight because tomorrow we are heading out early in the morning. Aaron has a 3:00pm flight out of Flagstaff. We are also picking up Doris and Paul at the Flagstaff bus station at 1:30. If everything goes as planned, we should arrive in Flagstaff by 1:30 and pickup Doris and Paul. Then we will all go to lunch. After lunch we will drop Aaron at the airport and head to Sedona. I will post later to let you know how are plans worked out. 

Our plans worked out prefectly. 

Sunrise about 6:30.  Beautiful day. Yesterday's rain cleaned the air and got rid of the smoke. Beautiful sunrise

Picked up Doris and Paul at the bus station at 1:45. Dropped Aaron off at the airport at 2:15. And headed for Sedona. We are staying at the Wyndham Sedona. Here are some pictures of the condo.

Day 16 last day at Pagosa Springs

The smokiness of the air was better this morning. We stayed around the condo this morning. Then went to lunch in town in a Mexican restaurant. 

Nice place right on the river across from the Springs resort. 

Thunderstorms started coming in as we left the restaurant to head back to the condo. Good thing our plan was to watch the Giants play the Rockies this afternoon.

Cleared up in the afternoon. Had a great Sunset. 

Dinner at home was much better than what we had for lunch at the restaurant. Aaron and I made grilled veggie burritos.  

Tomorrow we head back to Flagstaff. 

Day 15 Mesa Verde

It has been pretty smoky here in Pagosa Springs. Here is a picture from this morning.

There are some big mountains out there that you can't see through the smoke. 

So today we are heading to Mesa Verde. About 2 hours drive from Pagosa Springs.

Mesa Verde was an amazing place. 

By the time we got back to our place, the smokiness was much better. 

Day 14 Pagosa Springs

Pretty smoky this morning. We are going to stay close to Pagosa today

Day 13 On our way to Colorado.

Left Wyndham Flagstaff at 7:30 AM. On our way to Wyndham Pagosa. In Pagosa Springs, CO. About a 7 hour drive. 

Leaving AZ. Entering NM

Stopped in Farmington, NM for lunch. Figured we had to eat at a Mexican restaurant in New Mexico. 

Arrived at Wyndham pagosa at 4:30pm

The unit is a tri-level. Entry is into a mud room. Then through a second glass  entry door to a level with a bed room with 2 twin beds and a bathroom. Down a half a flight to the master. And up a half a flight to living room dining room and a kitchen. Here are some pictures.

View off the deck. Pretty hazy looking this direction because of 81,000 acres of forest are burning only about 50 miles away. At this point they have no estimate of when it will be under control.

Day 12 Aaron flies in.

Aaron flew in from Oakland this morning. 

Took a ride down to Jerome. 

Tonight we are packing up. We heading to Pagosa Springs, CO tomorrow. 

Day 11 Grand Canyon

We are taking a bus tour to Grand Canyon today I will post some pictures tonight.
